The 103rd Guangzhou Canton Fair showcases a variety of Chinese commodities - China Import and Export Fair
The 103rd China Import and Export Fair (or "Canton Fair") will be held from April 15-20 (phase 1) and April 25-30, 2008 (phase 2) in Guangzhou, the center of the Pearl River Delta manufacturing powerhouse and close to provincial exporting bases. Canton Fair showcases a variety of Chinese commodities
Held each April and October, Canton Fair is China's largest trade fair with a complete product range of Chinese commodities. It is divided into two phases, with the first phase focusing on Industrial products, Textiles & garments and medicines & health products. The second phase focuses on Consumer goods and Gifts.
In the previous October edition, the fair featured 31,682 booths in a 285,000-sqm exhibition area, attracting 206,749 buyers from 211 countries and regions.

Pazhou Complex
The Pazhou Complex was opened in 2002, and is now one of the venues for the China Export Commodities Fair (or "Canton Fair"). The Pazhou Complex has 13 exhibition halls on the first and the second floors. It has an indoor exhibition area of 130,000sqm and an outdoor exhibition area of 22,000sqm. Liuhua Complex

According to Canton Fair, Some of the exhibition sections will be adjusted since the 98th Canton Fair.
1. The Exhibition Section of Foodstuffs & Tea, which was originally in CECF (Liuhua) Complex in Phase One will be exhibited in CECF (Pazhou) Complex in Phase Two (from April 25 to April 30).
2. The Exhibition Section of Footwear & Headgear, which was originally in CECF (Pazhou) Complex in Phase Two will be exhibited in CECF (Liuhua) Complex in Phase One (from April 25 to April 30).
3. The Exhibition Section of Jewellery, Bone Carvings & Jade Carvings will be cancelled, and the relative exhibits will be shown in the Exhibition Section of Gifts in CECF (Liuhua) Complex in Phase Two.

Arrival By Air to Guangzhou
There are various international airlines traveling to and from Guangzhou at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. From Hong Kong to Guangzhou

Travel by air takes about 45 minutes from the Hong Kong International Airport.
•
Take the intercity passenger rails in Hong Kong to Guangzhou East railway station. Travel time is about 1.5 hours.
•
Take the Guangzhou-Hong Kong cross-border buses from the Hong Kong International Airport or other points in the city. Travel time is about 3.5 hours.
Getting Around
Plenty and relatively cheap, taxis are the best and most comfortable way of getting around the city, although the traffic will slow things down a bit. All taxis are metered. Flagdown rate for each type of taxi is the same (RMB7) but the charge per kilometer depends on the size of the taxi.
Guangzhou's Metro system is very efficient and fairly easy to navigate, as signs and maps are displayed both in English and Chinese. There are two primary lines, one from Xilang to Guangzhou East Railway Station, and the other from Pazhou to Jiengxia. The two lines cross at Gongyuanqian, the central station. History of China Import and Export Fair - Canton Fair Chinese Import & Export Fair, also called Canton Fair, is held twice a year in Spring and Autumn since it was inaugurated in the Spring of 1957. It is China's largest trade fair of the highest level, of the most complete varieties and of the largest attendance and business turnover. Preserving its traditions, the Fair is a comprehensive and multi-functional event of international importance. The 103rd session will be held from 15 to 20 April 2008.
